JUNE 29, 2022 – The 2022 New Mazda CX-8 has been updated with new features, as well as the introduction of a new SKYACTIV-G 2.5L Turbo variant.

The Mazda CX-8 is Mazda’s first mid-size crossover SUV that is position in-between the CX-5 and CX-9 in terms of its sizing scale. The three-row SUV opens up inspiring new possibilities for people with an active lifestyle. The CX-8 is designed and engineered to flexibly respond to the ever-changing need and making every journey stylishly rewarding no matter where or when.

2022 Mazda CX-8 Seat Configuration

The sophisticated design of CX-8, courtesy of Mazda’s design philosophy; “KODO: Soul of Motion”, concentrates on the proportions, fine details, the flowing lines that creates a strong, mature and dignified presence. The bold front-end design conveys a unique combination of elegance and power.

For the 2022 Mazda CX-8, newly added driving comfort and convenience features that is standard across all the variants which includes GVC Plus, additional USB ports for the 3^rd row passenger and a 7-inch Instrument Cluster meter, 6-way power seat for front passenger, Handsfree Power tailgate and auto-folding mirrors as standard equipment.

As for the variant’s enhancement, the 2.5L Mid and High variant gets updated Leather seats in Black, while the CX-8 2.5L High Plus variants retains the Nappa Leather in Deep Red Finishing. Meanwhile, the CX-8 2.5L High variant and above, receive an updated grille design, LED Signature headlamps, LED interior lamps as well as Wireless charger and Wireless Apple Carplay® which is accessible through the 8-inch Mazda Connect Infotainment display.

As for CX-8 2.5L High Plus and above variants gets Gunmetal finishing on its front grille and chrome bumper garnish, front seats with heated and ventilation function as well as updated i-Activsense features which includes the newly added Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), High Beam Control (HBC), front and rear Smart Brake Support (SBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop and go.

A new variant has been added for the CX-8 which is the SKYACTIV-G 2.5L Turbo engine that delivers an inspiring 228 hp and 420 Nm torque with a maximum speed of 200 km/h. This variant comes in All-Wheel-Drive (AWD). The powertrain and seating configuration of the 2022 Mazda CX-8 remains the same, where else as the SKYACTIV-D 2.2L engine is now in 2WD. All variants are paired with SKYACTIV-DRIVE 6-speed Automatic transmission with Manual Shift mode.

The CX-8 has been enhanced with G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus). GVC is a unique human-centered initiative that controls and stabilise the vehicle behaviour at high speed when cornering. The GVC Plus applies brake force lightly to the outer wheels as the steering wheel is returned to the center position. The GVC Plus now comes as standard in all the 2022 Mazda CX-8 variants.

The Mazda CX-8 is locally-assembled as CKD at the Inokom Assembly plant located at Kulim, Kedah. The CX-8, similar to the CX-5 is assembled in a dedicated section of the plant, managed by Mazda Malaysia, to ensure that the quality of vehicles is on par with that of Mazda vehicles manufactured in Japan.

The colour line-up includes Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black and two new colours: Platinum Quartz and Polymetal Gray.

Selling price starts from RM 177,674.40. All new Mazda vehicles registered comes with a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants. Both Manufacturer Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
