Have you ever notice a warning or indicator light showing up on your dashboard while driving your Mazda? Here is the full description of what each light means and what actions to take if you encounter one. Nevertheless, all the information is also available in your Mazda Owners Handbook.
When The Light is Turned On
A problem in the system may be indicated under the following conditions. Make an appointment at your nearest Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
When The Light is Flashing
The light continues to flash if the system has a malfunction. Make an appointment at your nearest Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
When the LAS & LDWS is turned off, press the LAS & LDWS OFF switch.
In the following cases, the LAS & LDWS is cancelled automatically and the LAS & LDWS OFF indication is displayed in the multi-information display.
The light illuminates if there is a malfunction in the LED headlight. Make an appointment at your nearest Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
If the windscreen area in front of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) is fogged or obstructed, the light turns on temporarily. If the (amber) light remains turned on, there may be a problem with the system. Make an appointment at your nearest Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
The SBS system can be temporarily deactivated. When the SBS system is turned off, the SBS OFF indicator (amber) light turns on. If the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) is operating, the indicator light (red) flashes.
This indicator light stays on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched ON. If the TCS or DSC is operating, the indicator light flashes.
If the light stays on, the TCS, DSC or the brake assist system may have a malfunction and they may not operate correctly. Take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
This indicator light stays on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched ON. It also illuminates when the TCS OFF switch is pressed and TCS is switched off. If the light remains illuminated and the TCS is not switched off, take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
If the ABS warning light stays on while you're driving, the ABS control unit has detected a system malfunction. If this occurs, your brakes will function normally as if the vehicle had no ABS. Should this happen, consult to an expert and take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
If this light illuminates while driving, the vehicle may have a problem. It is important to note the driving conditions when the light is illuminated and consult an expert repairer. The check engine light may illuminate in the following cases:
If the check engine light remains on, or it flashes continuously, do not drive at high speeds and take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
Mazda’s battery light might pop up as a result of a malfunctioning battery or problems with your vehicle’s voltage regulator or internal wiring. Take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
This warning light indicates low engine oil pressure. If the light remains illuminated even though the oil level is normal or after adding oil, stop the engine immediately and have your vehicle towed to the nearest Mazda Authorised Service Centre.
This warning light indicates that the engine oil level is around the MINIMUM mark.
The light flashes when the engine coolant temperature is extremely high and illuminates when the engine coolant temperature increases further.
When illuminated
The wrench indicator light turns on under the following conditions:
When flashing (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)
The sedimentor separates water from the fuel. If water accumulates in this filter, the warning light will flash. When it does, take your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
If the tyre pressure monitoring system warning light illuminates or flashes, or the tyre pressure warning beep sound is heard, decrease vehicle speed immediately and avoid sudden manoeuvring and braking. To determine if you have a slow leak or a flat, pull over to a safe position where you can check the visual condition of the tyre and determine if you have enough air to proceed to a place where air may be added and the system monitored again by an expert.
Master Warning Indication
Displays when notification of the system malfunction is required. Check the message indicated in the display and consult with an expert repairer at Mazda Authorised Service Centre.
Master Warning Light
The master warning light displays when a warning message occurs. This indicates a malfunction with the vehicle system. Consult with an expert repairer at Mazda Authorised Service Centre.
This red alert is meant to notify you that the airbags system malfunction in your Mazda might not be working in an accident. It’s important to bring your vehicle to an Authorised Mazda Service Centre for further inspection.
This warning has the following functions:
Parking brake warning/Indicator light inspection
The light illuminates when the electric parking brake (EPB) is applied with the ignition switched to START or ON. It turns off when the electric parking brake (EPB) is released.
When The Light is Turned On
If the light remains turned on even if the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) switch is released, take your vehicle to the nearest Mazda Authorised Service Centre for further inspection.
When The Light is Flashing
The light flashes if the electric parking brake (EPB) has a malfunction. If the light remains flashing even if the electric parking brake (EPB) switch is operated, take your vehicle to the nearest Mazda Authorised Service Centre for further inspection as soon as possible.
The Auto Hold (ACTIVE) indicator light illuminates in the information display when the system holds your vehicle stationary.
If the engine does not start with the correct key, and the security indicator light remains illuminated or flashing, try the following:
If the engine does not start after 3 or more tries, contact Mazda Authorised Service Centre for further inspection.
The light turns on if any door/liftgate is not closed securely.
Turn and Lane-Change Signals
The direction indicators in the instrument cluster flash according to the operation of the direction indicator lever to show which signal is working.
Hazard Warning Flasher
The hazard warning flashers warn other road users using all of the car's direction indicator lamps flashing simultaneously when this function is activated. Both direction indicator symbols in the combined instrument panel flash when the hazard warning flashers are used.
When the headlight high-beams are on, the headlight high-beam indicator light is turned on. The headlight high-beam indicator light in the instrument cluster illuminates simultaneously. The lever will return to the normal position when released.
When the lights are turned on, the lights-on indicator light in the instrument cluster will turn on.
If the brake system warning light remains illuminated even though the parking brake is released, the brake fluid may be low or there could be a problem with the brake system. Park the vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact Mazda Authorised Service Centre for further inspection.
When the lights are turned on, the rear fog lights indicator light in the instrument cluster turns on.
This message is displayed if the advanced keyless entry & push-button start system has a problem. Contact Mazda Authorised Service Centre for further inspection.
"Set Power to OFF" is displayed
This message is displayed when the driver's door is opened without switching the ignition off.
"Key not found" is displayed
This message is displayed when any of the following operations is performed with the key out of the operational range or placed in areas inside the cabin where it is difficult for the key to be detected.
If the key warning indicator light illuminates (RED), there is could be any malfunction in the advance keyless entry system. Have the vehicle inspected at an Authorised Mazda Service Centre.
