The Mazda BT-50 is powered by a turbo diesel engine tuned to deliver the dynamic Zoom-Zoom driving performance required of the new-generation pickup truck. Its fine blend of power, fuel efficiency, quiet operation and low emissions is also shared by the highly regarded MZ-DE 2.5 Turbo 2.5-litre diesel engine.

SURE-FOOTED HANDLING

The refined suspension system for the Mazda BT-50 adds lively handling response and sedan-like ride comfort to the inherited toughness of Mazda’s proven suspension layout.

The double wishbone front suspension adopts large-diameter shock absorbers that improve ride quality and handling stability. A new rear leaf design helps ensure precise and stable handling, while the longest leaf springs in the class deliver mild, reassuring ride comfort. Sure stopping performance is provided by ventilated front disc brakes and leading/trailing rear drum brakes tuned along with the feel of brake pedal operation to make the Mazda BT-50 an even greater pleasure to drive.

SMOOTH SHIFTING AND 4WD MOBILITY

The MZ-DE 2.5 engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that features sure shifting with smooth action and a light touch. Remote electric front wheel hub locks on all 4WD models help reduce drivetrain wear and improve fuel economy. The 4WD transfer system features smart, easy shift operation and exhibits tough performance on rough, muddy or snowy surfaces.
